After an expected but disappointing loss to Arsenal by Brighton Women and an emphatic win by the men against Manchester City, let’s go over all the Brighton news stories from the last seven days that you might have missed.
Transfer News
Incoming Transfers
Stanis Idumbo - Albion one of three English clubs interested in Belgian star
According to Fabrizio Romano’s outlet CaughtOffside, Brighton have sent scouts to watch young Sevilla winger Stanis Idumbo. Everton and Aston Villa are also reportedly interested in the 19-year-old.
The Ajax and Club Brugge academy product has recently broken into Sevilla’s first team side. He has made five appearances for Los Nervionenses so far this season.
Outgoing Transfers
Carlos Baleba - Rising star talks about transfer interest from big clubs
In an exclusive interview with Sky Sports, Carlos Baleba said he’s not thinking too much about his future and refused to ask a question if he was thinking about following the path Alexis Mac Allister, Moises Caicedo, and other Brighton players took by leaving the club after just a few seasons.
“I don't really think like that: playing for two or three years and then leaving,” Baleba said, “I just work. In my head it's all about working and helping my club.”
The Cameroonian star also said “At the end of my career, I want to have an individual title, to play and mark a little bit of history…then win trophies, lots of trophies, with my club and my country.”
When asked if that was possible at Brighton, Baleba said “I can win trophies here with Brighton, I can win trophies at another club. My ambition is to just win trophies everywhere I go.”
Tariq Lamptey - Everton interested in getting right back on a free transfer
African footballing news outlet AfricaFoot claim that Brighton right back Tariq Lamptey could leave the club at the end of the season when his contract expires. They say that “Premier League clubs like Everton” have already expressed interest in Lamptey and that Brighton are open to letting the Ghanaian leave this January.
Facundo Buonanotte - Seagulls set price tag amid transfer interest
Our favorite Spanish outlet, Fichajes, has reported that Brighton have set a €50m (£41.5m) price tag on Facundo Buonanotte. Following his good run of form at Leicester City, reports claim the Foxes are desperate to make the signing permanent. Buonanotte has also been linked to Tottenham and Liverpool.
Given that Brighton don’t tend to put set prices on their players, I would take this report with a grain of salt.

Niedzkowski has played a key role in the German football association since 2016, leading the DFB’s UEFA Pro License Course and youth academy system.
